Pragyan Bharati Scheme
The Government of Assam started a scheme named Pragyan Bharati Scheme in 2020. Under this scheme, the government will provide scooters to all students who have secured 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). This scheme is also widely known and referred to as the Assam HS Scooty Scheme in Assam.
On 8th May 2025, the Higher Education Department of Assam has published an official notification regarding the eligibility criteria of the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under Pragyan Bharati Scheme. As per that official notification, the students who are able to secure 80% or more marks in the Assam HS Final Examination Results are eligible to get the award to be distributed by the department.

Eligibility: The students who have secured 80% or above marks in the Higher Secondary Final Examination, 2025 conducted by ASSEB are eligible for this scheme.
Resident: The student must be a resident of Assam.
Further Studies: The student must continue their studies beyond 10+2. Students admitted in institutions outside the state are also eligible provided they have a valid PRC of Assam.
Objectives of Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme
The main objective of Distribution of Scooters are as follows:
a. To foster a sense of competitiveness and encourage students to perform better in their studies.
b. To motivate students to pursue Higher Education.
c. For better mobility of the students for facilitating easy access to higher education.
d. Enhancement of Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in the state of Assam.
Award Distribution Date: To be notified
As per the official notification, the list of beneficiaries will be uploaded on the official website soon after the list of students with 80% and above marks is collected from Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). The eligible students will have to fill up an online application form which will be notified separately through the official website.
Students in the betterment, reappearance category or dropouts are not eligible for the Assam HS Scooty Scheme.
Assam Scooty Merit List 2025
As of now, the department has not published the list of beneficiaries of the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under Pragyan Bharati Scheme. As soon as the list is officially published by the department, our users can download it from the following links.

- Name of student
- Name of institute & address
- Name of father of the student
- Roll and No. of student
- Registration No. & session
- Percentage % of marks obtained by student
How to Apply for Pragyan Bharati Scheme ?
During initial days, i.e., in 2020, there was a dedicated online portal to apply for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme.
However, now a days, scooty merit lists are prepared based on the data fetched from the end of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). Data provided by AHSEC consists of all exam related information of respective students. Hence, there is no need to submit any specific online/ offline application for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme as of now.

Directorate of Higher Education, Assam had released the lists of eligible students for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme as on 11th May 2025. The Assam Scooty Merit List 2025 can be checked from following table.
