HS 1st Year Online Admission 2026
Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division - II or erstwhile Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) launched an online platform called the “Darpan” for admission into Higher Secondary courses under the council through online mode . Students who have passed HSLC exam this year may apply online through this web portal for first year courses under ASSEB, Division - II for the coming academic session of 2026 - 2027. The HS 1st year admission process is to be started within 3 days after declaration of results of HSLC Examination i.e., from 12th April 2026 .

HS 1st Year Admission Fee Details
As per the official notification, the Assam Higher Secondary 1st year admission fee was waived by the Assam government and all students will able to get admissions at government recognized institutions at zero fee. Assam HS 1st year online admission will be free of cost and all eligible students will not have to pay any fee to get admission.
Assam HS Admission 2026 for Higher Secondary 1st year classes will be completed through "Darpan", the common portal for online HS admission .
The principals of colleges, HS schools and senior secondary schools, willing to avail this facility, can register for the same in online mode.
As such, all such Institutions registered on “DARPAN” portal are directed to visit official portal to update their institution profile using their existing login credentials in order to process the Admission of students into HS 1st Year Class for the session 2026-2027.
However, those institutions which have recently obtained Academic Permission from ASSEB, DIV-II but have not yet registered on the “DARPAN” portal are directed to register their institution using token number which will be shared with Principal through SMS in order to create institution profile and conducting admissions for the session 2026-2027 accordingly.

How to Complete HS 1st Year Admission Process?
Students who fulfil all the required eligibility criteria to get admission in AHSEC HS 1st year are able to submit their online applications on the official portal of AHSEC. They may follow below mentioned steps to submit their applications online.
Step 1: Scroll down, check Important Web Links section.
Step 2: Click on HS 1st Year Online Admission link.
Step 3: A portal will load, click on Register a new Account link.
Step 4: Next you need to enter your personal and educational details as required by the portal.
Step 5: Upload scan copy of passport sized photograph and 10th mark sheet.
Step 6: Next choose a 4 digit Login PIN and click on register button .
Step 7: Next again click on HS 1st Year Online Admission link and log in again.
Step 8: Select your desired course and colleges/ schools . You may choose maximum five institutions in order of their preference for admission.
Step 9: At the end, click on submit button and take a print of submitted form for future reference .
Step 10: Please do check the portal regularly for updates. You will be notified through the portal which institution(s) you have been selected for admission.
A student can apply upto maximum of five (5) no. of applications.

Starting date to apply online by students: 12th April 2026
Last date to apply online by students: 22nd April 2026
Preparation of merit list by institutes: 23rd to 24th April 2026
Publication of provisional selection/waiting list (Valid up to 08/05/2026): 25th April 2026
Acceptance of admission offer by students: 25th to 27th April 2026
