State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has released the official notification for admission into 2 - Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course for the session 2024 – 2026. Interested and eligible candidates must apply online first for Pre-Entry Test (PET) – 2024 for admission in to this course.
 
The course will be conducted in the NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutes (DIET/ CTE/ Normal School/ BTC/ Pvt. TEls) of the state for the academic session 2024 – 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for D.El.Ed Admission

Resident-ship: Candidates who are permanent resident of Assam can only apply for this course only.

Educational Qualification: The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (HS) [10+2] from recognized Board/Council with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject.

✓ For candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H) category there will be relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject.

Age Limit: The applicant must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as on 1st July, 2024. There will be a relaxation by 2 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) & ST(H) Categories.

Reservation of Seats: Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/Person With Disability (PWD) will be as per existing Govt. norms. Detail is available in our official website www.scertassam.co.in .

Application Fee: Candidates have to pay Rs. 600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred only) as application fee for all categories through online . Fee may be paid through Internet Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Wallet.

Selection Process: Candidates who are permanent resident of Assam have to appear in the Pre Entry Test (PET)-2024 for admission into 2 - Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course. The syllabus for this test can be check here .

Venue for Pre Entry Test (PET): The Venue for Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2024 will be allocated in the “District” selected by the candidates during submission of application form, which will be indicated in the ADMIT card of the candidates. Seats will be allotted to the selected candidates in the Teacher Education Institutes (TEls) of the “District” in which the candidates choose to appear for the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2024.

SCERT Assam Result Date

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has confirmed that the D.El.Ed PET results have been declared on 23rd September 2024. As mentioned earlier, this year the results have been declared on 23rd September 2024, 15 days after the exam date. The candidates will be able to check their results from the official web portal https://scertpet.co.in.

Syllabus of D.El.Ed Pre-Entry Test (PET)

Candidates aspiring to take up teaching as a profession at elementary level may apply to appear in the Pre-Entry Test (PET) – 2024 for admission into 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course. Here we will provide the question pattern, syllabus and all other details about PET 2024.

The Test shall have two Sections: Section-I and Section-II. Other details are as mentioned below.

Total Marks: 100

Time: 2 hours

Type of questions: MCQ

Number of question: 100 questions

Mark carried by each question: 1

Negative marking: For every incorrect response, 0.25 mark shall be deducted.

Section-I

General English: 10 Marks
General Knowledge: 15 Marks
Reasoning: 10 Marks

Total: 35 Marks

General English: Vocabulary, tenses, verbs, preposition, comprehension, voice-change, narration, adverbs, synonyms, antonyms.

General Knowledge: Current affairs, who is who, abbreviations, constitution of India, History of Assam, Inventions and discoveries, Sports. Art and culture, Every day Science, World Organizations, Geography of India, Educational Commissions and Committees, New Educational Initiatives, Educational Organizations.

Reasoning: Logical and analytical reasoning, pattern etc.

General Mathematics: 15 Marks
General Science & EVS: 15 Marks
Social Science: 20 Marks
Language (Assamese/ Bangla/ Bodo): 15 Marks
